You will need to make a note of:
- Widths - Top / Middle / Bottom
- Height - Left / Middle / Right
Be careful when making pencil marks on the sides of the wardrobe, as there will be no tracks to cover these marks.
Place your measuring tape at the top of the opening, measure from one side of the jamb 1000mm in & make a mark. Now measure from the other side & record the difference to the 1000mm mark.
Combine both measurements to get an exact width measurement.
Repeat this process for the middle & bottom openings.
Please record all 3 measurements to determine the best width size if the opening is not in square.
If your 3 width measurements are the same, this is your width opening measurement. If you measured 1252mm top width, 1254mm middle width & 1257mm bottom width you will record the largest measurement of 1257mm as your width. As your doors can overlap when they are in the closed position, the largest measurement is used to ascertain the sizing of the individual doors.
Repeat the process for measuring the width to measure the heights.
Again, using the same process, place your measuring tape at the top left corner of the opening, measuring down from the top to the floor.
Repeat this process for the middle & right hand side measurements.
Please record all 3 measurements to determine the best width size if the opening is not in square.
Using the smallest of your 3 height measurements deduct 35mm from this (to allow for the track height) & this is your height opening measurement
See below if you are using a floor batten as a further 19mm deduction will need to be made.
If your wardrobe door tracks will sit onto vinyl or floor boards you should record your measurements to that surface.
If you are fitting on carpet, a floor batten will ensure you have a flat surface to hold your bottom track down with.
If this is the case we can supply a 80mmx19mm pine floor batten cut to the same length at your width size. This can be chosen at checkout or you could purchase it yourself.
When you are using a floor batten you will need to deduct 35mm for the track & 19mm for the batten, so a total of 54mm should be deducted from your height.
eg. 2074mm is the smallest height measurement less 35mm track height & then a further 19mm if using a batton is a height of 2020mm.
These doors can be disassembled & cut down for resizing, if you mismeasure. But this is only possible if you have measured for a larger size than required & this will incur additional expense.
Please read all information before proceeding with your order & if you are unsure, remeasure or have another person measure also, to confirm or compare your measurements.
